Location and boundaries
  • Western Visayas is located right at the center of the Philippine archipelago.
  • It is composed of six provinces (Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros Occidental), 13 cities, 19 municipalities and 4,045 barangays.
  • Its 20,233 square-kilometer land areas spread over with Iloilo City as the regional administrative center. The other cities are Roxas, Bacolod, Bago, Cadiz, Silay, La Carlota, San Carlos, Sagay, Kabankalan and Passi.

Major tourist attractions

  • The most famous of the region's white-sand beaches is the island of Boracay located in the province of Aklan.

  • Centuries old edifices and viewing antiques collections of Iloilo and Bacolod.
