Location and boundaries
- Western Visayas is located right at the center of the Philippine
archipelago.
- It is composed of six provinces (Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo,
Guimaras and Negros Occidental), 13 cities, 19 municipalities and
4,045 barangays.
- Its 20,233 square-kilometer land areas spread over with Iloilo
City as the regional administrative center. The other cities are Roxas,
Bacolod, Bago, Cadiz, Silay, La Carlota, San Carlos, Sagay, Kabankalan
and Passi.

- The most famous of the region's white-sand beaches is the island

and Bacolod.
